Rhea's Journey of Courage and Connection

For Rhea Arora, University Hall was more than just a place to live — it was a community that helped shape her purpose and passion for helping others.

Having lived at UniHall from 2019 to 2022, Rhea completed a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Psychology in 2023 and will soon graduate with a Master of Social Work this December. Her time at UniHall was filled with opportunities to lead, connect, and make a meaningful impact.

Starting as a volunteer, Rhea went on to become a Floor and Program Residential Assistant (RA) , and later, Lead RA. She also founded the University Hall Health Promotion Committee in 2020 — an initiative focused on wellbeing, inclusion, and support — and later led the Academic Advancement portfolio as part of her leadership role.

When she was a Peer Supporter at The Living Room, UWA, Rhea provided emotional and practical support to students, continuing the same spirit of care and connection that defined her time at UniHall. As she looks ahead to her next chapter as a newly qualified social worker, she now works in the homelessness and family domestic violence sector, eager to keep creating safe spaces where others feel seen, heard, and supported.

When reflecting on what she loved most about her UniHall experience, Rhea doesn’t hesitate:

“I most enjoyed the people — the diverse and friendly community, and the opportunity to connect with others. UniHall celebrates culture, connection, and community within a well-supported environment.”

Her advice for new residents is simple yet powerful:

“There is power in the small moments of courage — so take them. They add up to incredible, life-changing decisions.”

From her first days as a volunteer to her journey into social work, Rhea embodies what it means to live with purpose, compassion, and courage — values that continue to inspire the UniHall community.
