After a big year of postgraduate study, research, deadlines and PhD milestones, our postgraduate residents deserved some time to simply stop, catch their breath and chill.
Our Fro-Chi & Chill evening was designed especially for our postgraduate community, with make-your-own frozen yoghurt treat with toppings, canapés and drinks providing the perfect excuse to relax, reconnect and celebrate the year.
Postgraduate residents make up almost one-third of the UniHall community, bringing an important mix of experience, perspective and wisdom to life in the Hall. Having already completed their first degrees, many of our postgraduates become tutors, mentors and trusted sources of advice for undergraduate students. They share what they have learned, help others navigate university life and provide a valuable perspective on everything from study to life beyond an undergraduate degree.
That makes our postgraduate community an important part of what makes UniHall such a diverse and connected place.
This event was a chance to celebrate that contribution but also to put the textbooks, research papers and thesis drafts aside for an evening.
Between creating their own frozen yoghurt masterpieces, enjoying some food and drinks and catching up with friends, residents had the opportunity to reflect on everything they had achieved throughout the year.
For some, that meant celebrating the completion of a postgraduate degree. For others, it was another year of research, another chapter of a PhD, or simply making it through another demanding year of study.
Whatever their achievement, it was worth celebrating.
As our postgraduate residents continue to shape the UniHall community through their knowledge, generosity and willingness to support those around them, Fro-Chi & Chill was a small but important reminder to pause and recognise just how much they contribute.
Sometimes, after a very long year, you don't need another seminar or study session.
You just need some frozen yoghurt, good company, and a chance to chill!
