UWA offers a variety of scholarships that provide funds that support accommodation fees at University Hall.

UWA Connect Scholarship

Scholarships Details: There are up to 200 per year available.

The UWA Connect Scholarship is designed to make your university journey smoother and more affordable by connecting you with essential support. It’s tailored for students from diverse backgrounds, including regional, Indigenous, and disadvantaged communities, as well as those facing challenging circumstances.

The value of the scholarship is:

  1. $5000 per year and $1500 in the first semester for the duration of the course
  2. Wrap around support program

Emeritus Professor John Jackson Undergraduate

Scholarships Available: Just one scholarship awarded per year.

The late Emeritus Professor John Jackson has bequeathed funds to The University of Western Australia to assist and encourage students who are experiencing financial hardship and educational disadvantage to undertake an undergraduate degree course at the University.

The value of the scholarship is:

  1. the student contribution fees payable for the course in which the recipient is enrolled; and
  2. $3000 per annum living allowance for the duration of the course; and
  3. accommodation fees at a residential college (University hall of residence or college affiliated with the University), for recipients who are:
    1. from regional or remote area of Western Australia; or
    2. able to demonstrate extenuating circumstances which preclude them from living at home.

Rio Tinto Residential Indigenous Leadership Scholarship

Scholarships Available: Up to five scholarships are available for award.

Rio Tinto Pty Ltd has donated funds to The University of Western Australia ('the University') to provide a scholarship to assist an eligible Indigenous Australian student with the cost of accommodation, at UniHall or one of the UWA affiliated residential colleges, and other expenses whilst completing undergraduate studies at the University.

The value of the scholarship is

      • $25,000 per annum which is paid on behalf of the recipient, directly to their residential college of residence and with the residual funds paid directly to the recipient.
