Did you know there are a number of financial supports that regional school leavers can access to support you in moving to Perth to pursue your studies at UWA. 

When living on campus, these financial supports can go a long way in contributing to your rent, giving you more money to spend on other aspects of independent living.

 
Australian Government Tertiary Access Payment: $3,000 - $5,000 

The Australian Government has introduced a Tertiary Access Payment to assist outer regional and remote students to access tertiary study immediately following school (Year 12).

Scholarships UWA

UWA offers a number of scholarships for students studying at UWA for the first time. Many even include specific funding for accommodation when you’re living on campus.

A common example of a UWA scholarship is the UWA Connect Scholarship: $5,000

The UWA Connect Scholarship is designed to make your university journey smoother and more affordable by connecting you with essential support. It’s tailored for students from diverse backgrounds, including regional, Indigenous, and disadvantaged communities, as well as those facing challenging circumstances.

The value of the scholarship is:

  • $5000 per year and $1500 in the first semester for the duration of the course

    Supporting your Rent at UniHall 

    In many cases you can use financial assistance to contribute to your rent costs at UniHall. Some accommodation support funds in UWA scholarships are even paid directly into your UniHall rent, so it’s easy and quick for students!
