UniHall dances through the decades to victory

If there were a time machine parked in the Upper Quad, no one would’ve questioned it. This year’s Intercollege LipDub took us on a joy‑fuelled spin through the 20th century — and spoiler alert: UniHall came back with the trophy. Our fourth win in a row. (Casual, right?)

From the disco lights and glitter of the 70s to the pop anthems of the 90s, every corner of UniHall became its own mini era. One moment you were moonwalking past Madonna, the next you were locking eyes with David Bowie, Charlie Chaplin tipping his hat, or the Spice Girls reminding us exactly how zig‑a‑zig‑ah confidence works. It hit the nostalgia sweet spot, with plenty of fun along the way.

This LipDub was about more than wigs, wardrobes, and perfectly timed throwbacks (though there were plenty of those). It was a celebration of individuality — the scene‑stealers, the commit‑to‑the‑bit legends, and everyone brave enough to lean all the way in. Whether it was a full‑throttle pop moment or a blink‑and‑you‑miss‑it cameo, every performance brought something uniquely UniHall to the mix.

Behind the scenes, hundreds of students and staff pulled together to make it happen — filming, rehearsing, organising, prop‑decorating, creating, and hyping each other up along the way. Big shout‑out energy to everyone involved, from the master planners to the last‑minute costume heroes.

The competition was fierce, the margin was tight, and the pressure was very real. But once again, UniHall did what it does best: showed up as ourselves — loud, creative, bold, and fully committed.
