New UniHallers

Let us help your move into University Hall and UWA.

Welcome to University Hall

Congratulations on becoming a UniHaller!  You're about to join the most diverse and vibrant community of UWA residents who have travelled from all over Western Australia, Australia and the world to live at UniHall. Our supportive community opens new doors for residents to explore different cultures and to build a lifetime network of friends who will become your family.

To support your move into the Hall we have answered some of your questions on what to expect, what to bring and more.

Things to know before arriving

University Hall Handbook

The Handbook is your go to guide for living at University Hall. This has the policies and procedures of UniHall which all residents must abide by for a safe, comfortable and happy community. There is also information on your lease, how to log maintenance requests, your meal plan and who to contact when you need help. All residents are expected to read and understand the University Hall Handbook upon arrival and moving into the Hall.

Payments

At University Hall rent is paid fortnightly in advance. What this means is that the sum of the first two weeks of your lease must be paid in full prior to your move in date and you must continue to pay rent at the beginning of each fortnight until the end of your lease.

The preferred method of payment are BPAY and direct bank transfer. Every University Hall resident is assigned individual BPAY details, which are emailed to directly to you once your lease agreement has been signed.

Please contact our accounts department with any questions at [email protected]

Where to go for help

Once you have checked into UniHall, there are a number of contact points where you can find the support you need. You can visit the UniHall Office located behind the UWA Accommodation Office and underneath the Dining Hall in the only building with an orange roof.

Support you can find here:

  • submit meal plan upgrades

  • pick up mail and parcels

  • try on and purchase UniHall merchandise

  • hire a free bike from the UniHall Bike Share Program

  • buy laundry tokens

  • sign up for a UniHall program

  • have a chat with a Residential Life Coordinator.

You will also find a Residential Advisor (senior student) lives on your floor to help you settle into life at UniHall. You can ask them for information such as what UniHall events are on, where the best cafes are, what buses to catch into the city  or feel free to just have a chat and get to know them. You'll find you RA has a similar story to you as they have also moved away from home and transitioned into university life.
