University Hall had the pleasure of hosting four regional high school students from the Great Southern region for an exclusive presentation of a life time.
It was a long journey for some of these school students, as they travelled over 400km to University Hall. The journey was well worth it as they were about to see His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet present on The Importance of Education at The University of Western Australia.
The students from Great Southern Grammar, St Joseph’s College, Mt Barker Community College and the WA College of Agriculture (Denmark) were comfortable in the short stay accommodation at Crawley Village and University Hall’s M House.
On Monday 15 June the high school students woke feeling excited for their day ahead. You see, it is not every day where you have the opportunity to meet the Dalai Lama.
The students enjoyed their buffet breakfast at the Sir George Currie Dining Hall and then ventured on the short walk through the underpass to the UWA campus for the presentation.
The presentation was filmed live by the UWA Student Guild and can be viewed online here.
The regional schools were very grateful to be included in the inspirational Dalai Lama event and for the warm welcome and hospitality provided by University Hall.
