On 15 February the newly refurbished Dining Hall was reopened, delighting staff, guests and students with its extensive food offerings. The University Club is now responsible for feeding over 750 residents three meals a day and the feedback has been astounding.
Renaming it Sir George Currie Dining Hall after the second Vice Chancellor of UWA, was an honor appreciated by his grandson who visited the Hall 2 April.
The perimeter fence, which separated University Hall from the pedestrian underpass and UWA has also now been removed, leaving behind fresh stone work and open grassed areas. It is now clear just how the ‘Lantern’ (on the south west corner of J House) will become the iconic, landmark feature of University Hall.
